Before You Begin – Site Preparation
Delivery & Handling
Check all deliveries for damage on arrival.
Store panels on a flat surface off the ground using timber bearers.
Protect from weather and sunlight using waterproof sheeting.
Lift panels individually or with suitable lifting beams — do not drag to prevent damage to the outer coating.
Tools Required
Cordless drill/driver with adjustable torque
Panel lifters or suction pads (for long panels)
Fine-toothed circular saw (if cutting is required)
Silicone sealant (non-acidic, compatible with coated steel)
PPE including gloves, goggles, and safety boots
Step-by-Step Installation Guide
1. Setting the Base
Ensure purlins or steelwork are level and properly aligned.
Fix eaves fillers or closure strips to maintain weather-tightness.
2. Laying the First Panel
Start at the eaves, working towards the ridge and side laps.
Lay the first panel square to the eaves and ridge.
Fix through the crown of the outer skin into purlins using self-drilling fasteners with sealing washers.
3. Side Lap Sealing
Apply a continuous bead of butyl or mastic sealant in the side lap groove.
Overlap the next panel and press firmly for a tight seal.
Fix side laps using stitching screws at recommended intervals.
4. Fixing Pattern
Fixings should be placed:
At every purlin (typically 1.5m–2m centres)
At laps and mid-span, following manufacturer guidelines
Avoid over-tightening screws to prevent distortion or crushing the insulation.
5. Ridge & End Closures
Fit ridge flashings with suitable closures and sealant.
Seal and fix verge trims, barge boards, and other flashings as required.
Ensure continuity of vapour and weather seals.
Additional Tips
Always follow manufacturer-specific recommendations for fire resistance, U-values, and structural span capacities.
Maintain a clean surface—remove swarf or debris to prevent corrosion.
Never install in wet or freezing conditions that can compromise sealants.
